Meet the visionaries behind Kamp Of Life

Kamp Of Life is the vision of our dedicated team of directors,
who have spent the past 4 years developing the concept of a camp that teaches fundamental life skills to boys and girls ages 12 to 17.

I was born in San Diego, Calif., and raised in Las Vegas. I am a wife and mother, and I enjoy spending time with my family. I’ve been in the real estate industry for the majority of my adult life. From real estate sales, property management to project management, I have really enjoyed broadening my horizons and learning a lot along the way. I currently own a Notary Signing Service Company and I am excited to see its growth. When I was asked to be a member of Kamp Of Life, I knew it meant I could be part of something bigger than myself. Kamp Of Life will help our community and youth to also broaden their horizons by teaching important life skills that they normally wouldn’t have the opportunity to learn.

A native of Sacramento, I’ve lived most of my life in the Northern California area and love my home. I’m a veteran of the United States Air Force Reserve and spent most of my life working with heavy equipment and machinery. I have learned a lot of skills and interesting things in my career, and I enjoy combining getting my hands dirty with using my head. I have three children, who are my motivation. I love to teach them and watch them learn and that inspires me to learn more and teach others.

I believe there is a void in the educational and skill development side of our communities that can be filled with dedication, care and collaboration. As the African proverb says, “It takes a village to raise a child.” I am excited to help build that village with Kamp Of Life.

I was born and raised in a military family, so I have moved around quite a bit. I have worked in education throughout my undergraduate career and I currently work as a first-grade teacher in a dual-language school in Texas. As an educator, I believe in the importance of supporting the youth. Children are our future.

“To fail to plan is to plan to fail” – Benjamin Franklin. Planning and preparing children for a life outside of school and supporting their critical thinking skills with life lessons is one step closer to leaving a brighter future for those to come. I hope to do this more with the help of Kamp Of Life.

I was born and raised in Sacramento, Calif., also known as the “River City,” and it has been a great place to raise my family. I am a veteran of the Air Force Reserve and have worked in the public service sector most of my adult life. Growing up, I attended the City of Sacramento School District, where there has always been a program in which the sixth-graders had the opportunity to go to a camp called Sly Park in El Dorado County. For me, it was five days of amazing. (I still remember the name of my cabin). As an adult I have always wondered what would be the best way to give back to the youth within the community,  and I have determined that Kamp Of Life is that way. Reaching out to at-risk youth and providing them with practical life skills that will help them to succeed today and in years to come is a win for our youth and a win for our community.
